Horizontal connection systems are generally preferred to limit the height of overtrawlable protection structures. The figure above shows a typical layout. Use following products:
Connection of underwater pipe spools, skid mounted assemblies and flowline terminations
Advantages:
-
enables alignement and connection of mating ends by simple ROV operation, eliminating heavy duty jacking tools and alignment frames
-
quick and reliable connection
-
fully mechanical
-
very compact and robust
-
reduced dimensions of manifolds, PLEMs, PLETs, Riser Bases etc.
-
ideal design for pipeline piggy back mounted connections (in line tees etc)
Connection of small bore piping, flexible hoses etc.
Advantages:
-
overcomes limitations of hot stabs providing a high pressure - through conduit connection
-
handling by std working class ROV, no special tools
-
metal to metal seal arrangement, suitable for temporary as well as permanent use
